If you have access to a electricity multi-meter it's a quick check with the probes to find out if the power cord itself is the problem, and similarly to see of the power is getting past the JS connector pins. The last thing is maybe there is something blown inside the stick.Įlectricity is dangerous, only proceed with the next bit if you are confident, otherwise take the stick and power cord to some electronics store, the guys there will probably be happy to check things out for you for the price of a pint or two. The simplest thing that could be wrong is a blown fuse in the mains plug, the next is a broken connection either inside the power cord itself (less likely) or around the pins in the base unit (more likely). For items that get plugged in/out with this kind of arrangement you can get metal fatigue on these parts, so if you are up to it, open the base unit and ensure that these two pins' connections are good and the pins are solid (ie thay don't wobble about if you press you fingernail over them when the power cord is unnatached). The pins mmentioned earlier in the thread are the two pins that are inside the base unit when you pull out the JS end of the power cord. I see the two pins in the power receptical at the base on the joystick and IF this is what your refering to, they are fine. My power cord is a sealed unit with no fuse loaction. I'll check mine but you may have to try and break this down …. If you could only see the cinfusion on my face …. After that experience I commenced using a small piece of plywood to rest the stick on when I use it set like that. That's easy to do if the stick is used while having it positioned on your thigh as I learned with the first Sidewinder FF stick I had.
It works fine but light flashes and no forcefeedback.Ĭheck to see if the thin pin in the jack where the power cord plugs into the the stick is broken off. I have tried to open the joystick but can't see that any cables to be loose.Īnyone have suggestions how I can get the Force feedback to work? Green light is flashing and no Force feedback. I have tried it on another computer and same things happening. Everythig works except from the force feedback…….which is why I bought it in the first place. I am running Windows 7 and it finds the drivers with no problem. Problem is that the green light is flashing and therefore no power is supplied to the joytick. I just bought a used MS Force Feedback 2 joystick (first version with the green light).
